My paintings have been exhibited in galleries and in private collections throughout the United States and Europe. I have received recognition from the National Arts Appreciation Program, as well as a prestigious show of work at Picasso's atelier at L’ Espace Bateau Lavior in Paris. My painting, “Coastal Light” was recently featured in The Coastal Living Magazine’s article, “True Colors”.
My mother was my first artistic mentor. At the age of twelve, she enrolled me in a studio painting class with well-known Ohio artist, Gene Woods. This began an exploration of basic painting skills, and later into the techniques of the Great Masters, as well as the Tonalist, Impressionist, and Color Field movements, which influenced what would later become my own distinctive style.
In 1992 I moved to Germany with my husband and two young sons, where I first began painting outdoors. My little village of Hutschenhausen and the neighboring nature preserve exposed me to glorious colors that made their way from brush to canvas. Today, I enjoy creating color-rich, vibrant, luminous paintings which continue to be inspired by nature, especially the sky, sea, and landscapes of northern California, my home since 1995.
My oil paintings now delight corporate and private collectors worldwide, including the permanent collections of the Carnegie Foundation at Stanford and Paul Weiss in New York City.
